Frequently, I'll start listening to a band or group and not really pay attention to the name. I stick them on my "Favorites" playlist and might listen to them on repeat for days and days without being able to tell you what the song name is or who did it.
I was lucky enough to accidentally stumble upon these guys Live when Chris and I were recently in Spain, after listening to them for the first part of the year, but not really knowing who they were. Not only do I think they're great, but after researching them a bit more, I found this album on at least three blog lists of Top Indie Albums of 2011.
What's interesting about the lead artist, Ernest Greene, is that he made his very humble DIY beginnings at home in his bedroom with a laptop, sample bank and microphone and this is his debut album - not too shabby, Ernest!
I'm a bit in love with songs that have an 80's synth feel to them these days and this one definitely does, while adding a psychedelic freshness that I can't quite articulate in words, but he does so well in sound...
I hope you enjoy:
